Donna Radik's career has taken her from the theater in Calgary, where she worked as a Playwright and Assistant Director, to Toronto, where she studied filmmaking at Ryerson University. She spent five years at Telefilm Canada, where she worked her way up from Script Coordinator to become a Creative and Business Analyst on the Feature Film Unit. In this position, Donna was able to work with some of Canada's finest independent filmmakers. Donna has written six feature films to date, including "Mouthing the Words", based on the Toronto Book Award winning novel by Camilla Gibb, and an adaptation of Karen Stabiner's book "To Dance With The Devil" for Starz! Pictures. She has also adapted the book “Invisible Darkness”, a controversial telling of the Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka story for the screen. Donna has also worked on a number of collaborations including “Paw” with Loretta Cooper of Decoy Films in New York City, “Presumed Guilty” with writer Jocelyn Cornforth for the CTV Network. She has also written a number of long form dramas for television which include “The Last Known Residence of a Protected Killer” for CourtTV and Patriarch Pictures, “The Best Friend” for Porchlight Entertainment and the Lifetime Network and “The Power of One: The Barb Tarbox Story” for CTV and Alberta Filmworks. Donna’s true talent lies in writing compelling character driven drama. |
