Ms. Veronica
Blake campaigned and was elected, "The Second
Empress of all of Ontario" for the Imperial
Court of Toronto, by the public of Ontario, Canada. In Toronto,
she was crowned at midnight on the 12th of November, 1988. It was
a night of overwhelming proportions which was attended by over six
hundred guests. Ms Blake, clad in a shimmering autumn-aurora sequin
jacket and camel skirt, glittered brightly on the stage of the Masonic
Temple as she was crowned. In her acceptance speech, she made it
clear to all present, that her year would have a full 365 days &
that she would be calling on each and everyone present to make the
year a success.
During 1988-89, Veronica and her followers
raise awareness for AIDS in Toronto and donated over $40,000.00
to various local charities. It was a time for benefit shows, for
which Veronica would rouse the talent, organize and Host. Working
from Club Colby's and within the Church Street Community, she held
weekly events featuring singers, dancers, impersonaters, strippers
& themed shows. Veronica showed her talents as female impersonater

As Empress it was her job to travel as
a Goodwill Embassador for Toronto and with the sponsorship of Club
Colby's, did travel to fourteen cities across the United States
and Canada to entertain and fundraise.
At the end of her reign, was the Coronation
Ball, at which time the next Empress of Toronto, Dawn Valley &
her Emperor, Chas Parkway were crowned. Veronica took a long awaited
break from fundraising and relaxed for a year or two, only appearing
at few local events & benefits.
In years to come the Emperor, elected
to reign at her side, passed away and Ms. Blake was forever proclaimed
as "The Widowed Golden
Emerald Executive Empress II, of all of Ontario."
During her 10th Anniversary
year, 1999, she is once again active in TICOT producing the CCIO
- Newsletter and acting as the Secretary for the Executive
of TICOT. The year began at Coronation '98 when she performed in
celebration with several memebers of her original court. Then, in
April she hosted an event "It Shoulda Bin
Me!!" at TRAX V which raise $396.00
for TICOT. During Coronation '99 Week, she hosted the "InTown
Show" at The Web, which was night filled with fantastic
performances and lot's of fun.
Her next venture
was "The Millennium Draw" which
was drawn at Victory Brunch following the crowning of the Thirteenth
Empress Ellie Vader at Coronation 1999, "The
Fire & Ice Ball" October 9th. 2,400 tickets were
sold raising almost $2000.00 which is to be split with the winning
ticket holder and The Imperial Court of Toronto. |
