| Diary 2
Date: Aug 8, 2005
Location: Cherry Beach, Toronto
Water Temp: 76 degrees
Conditions: Windy - quite choppy
Swan to the West end of the Cherry beach and back,
then continued east for another 1000m, and back. I worked on sprinting
every 50 stroke/rest 20 strokes. Then sprint 100/rest 30 strokes.
Worked on pressing the water up to the thighs and gliding along
the power from the push. The waves heading west were the worst;
constantly fighting the waves. Heading east, got to ride the waves
and with the tail wind, was much faster. I kept looking for the
buoys, but could not see them in the waves. Suddenly, I it was
right in front of me! Sort of a shock and scared the s_
_ _ out of me! Recovered and continued the swim.
Naturally, afterward, as I lay in the sun (recovering
for the 4 km swim) the wind died
down. Imagine! Great day and swim.
