A one act drama (in 6 scenes).

Donald MacMaster, a budding young painter, meets Poldi Dahl, a music student, who is an immigrant to Canada from Austria. They meet at a private golf club where Donald's parents, James and Joyce MacMaster, are longtime members. Poldi is working as a waitress there to earn money to pay her tuition at the Conservatory, where she studies operatic singing. She is a gifted soprano. The young couple fall in love and Donald paints Poldi's portrait that summer, giving it to her. In the autumn, James, furious at his son's choices in profession and love, burns all other of Donald's paintings after locking his son in the third floor studio of their Rosedale home. Trying to get from the third floor window, Donald falls to his death on the stone driveway. Years later, the MacMasters try to buy the portrait of Poldi.

7 Characters: Poldi, Donald, James, Joyce, Ed Kerr, Liz Kerr (club members), Sam Shaw (Club's Caretaker).
