A comic monologue in one act.
A drag queen (female impersonator) who has admired and copied his idol,
Marlene Dietrich, for thirty years or more, has reached middle age and
has put on weight. As he realises that food has become more important
to him than sex, he changes his 'drag' name to Marlene Richdiet and rhapsodises
about the pleasures of eating at good restaurants and about his own cooking
of good food. As he compares the realities of his aging process to the
trials of his youth, we discover the ways in which an adventurous character
learned to survive as a gay man in a world that offered mostly opposition
to his best efforts in his chosen art.
