A comedy in three acts in 4 settings (Toronto, Paris, London and Rome).

This is the story of Flora's rite of passage at the age of sixty-four. Flora was hostess for the dining room in an exclusive private club until a new manager, anxious to get rid of old-time employees, fires the aging hostess for removing her shoes while she is tallying up the signed chits at end of the dinner service, after guests have gone, sitting at a table in the dining room. Flora, a year away from her government pensions, realises that she must move from her modest apartment to a single rented room if she is to survive. While packing to move, Flora gets help from her next-door neighbour, an antique dealer, who informs Flora that her collection of movie memorabilia, started in childhood, is now worth a small fortune. Flora sets out to have a year travelling in Europe and is changed forever by the men and women she meets while abroad.
